WORSHIP MINISTRY

Our Worship Ministry consists of representatives of every component of our worship service.  These dedicated volunteers meet monthly with Father Richard to plan and review plans for worship, discuss additional services, and to coordinate efforts to make sure our worship services are reverent and meaningful experiences to glorify God.  Please call the church office at 812.422.9009 to request visits or for additional information about these various ministries.

Our worship ministries include:

Altar Guild:  This ministry is responsible for making sure the altar and church are ready for all services.  The members of this guild take turns serving twice in a three-month period to set the altar and make sure the candles; linens, wine, and bread are in place for the services.  Lois Patton heads this ministry and is happy to welcome new members.

Layreaders/Chalicists:  Lay readers read the scripture lessons and prayers at both the 8:00 and 10:30 services and at all other services throughout the year.  Lay Chalicists assist in the distribution of communion at all services.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers:  This ministry provides communion to parishioners who are temporarily or permanently unable to attend church.  LEM’s share communion with homebound parishioners, hospital patients, and any others who have requested communion.

St. Paul's ChoirMusic:  Under the directorship of Choirmaster Ben Boyer and Organist Margaret Kimberling, our choir offers beautiful music at the 10:30 service each Sunday morning.  Choir practices each Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM (childcare is provided) and on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.

Pastoral Care:  Visits to our homebound members and those in the hospital are a vital part of our worship ministry.  Members on the Pastoral Care ministry visit those who can’t come to church providing an important link to their church family.

Ushers & Greeters:  Ushers & Greeters provide assistance during the service by handing out bulletins, presenting the sacraments at communion, and greeting newcomers who visit St. Paul’s.

Acolytes: We have a dedicated Acolyte ministry where youth in 4th grade and up are invited to serve with our priest during services.  Youth interested in the acolyte ministry should contact Sharon Graham or Dan Howell.
