Youth Ministry

“St. Paul’s Youth Ministry exists to encourage spiritual growth through praising God, strengthening our beliefs, discovering our gifts, caring for each other & reaching out into our community.”

Our youth program while separate from the Journey to Adulthood ministry shares the same young people.  Both ministries help our youth grow in their faith while one has more focus on fun and fellowship and the other in gaining knowledge to further their understanding of God’s call.  They are both important to the life of our youth ministries.

Youth meet 2-3 times a month for activities such as bowling, movie nights and community service.  “Uth” night is held once a month on Sunday evenings in the youth room.  The evening begins with dinner and then follows with a topic for discussion and some fun fellowship time.  Youth in 6th grade and up are welcome to attend youth events.  Check the current calendar by clicking on the link or going to the Epistle page.

MISSION WORK

Every other year youth age 14 and up plan and go on a mission trip out of the Evansville area.  Past mission trips have been to Grahn, KY where youth washed and painted a community center.  Afterwards they traveled to West Virginia for White Water Rafting. Click here for a summary and photos of the June 2006 mission trip to Grahn, Kentucky.

The YSC, Youth Steering Committee, is made up of youth that are active in all youth ministries and Marge Gianopoulos, Director of Education and Youth ministry.  They meet 2-3 times a year to plan the years events.  A youth is also elected each year by their peers to serve on the vestry as the Youth Representative.
